The Sonoma Valley Fire District is a "Fire Risk Reduction Community"

Emblem with text "FIRE RISK REDUCTION" and "FIRE DISTRICT COMMUNITY", a fireman's helmet, and water hose.

The State of California has several initiatives aimed at reducing fire risks and enhancing community resilience against wildfires. These include the Fire Risk Reduction Community (FRRC) designation, which is managed by the Board of Forestry and Fire Protection. This designation is granted to communities that meet best practices for local fire planning, including creating defensible space, implementing building codes that minimize ignition risk, and developing comprehensive wildfire mitigation strategies. As of 2024, communities like ours within the Sonoma Valley Fire District have been recognized for exceeding minimum fire safety standards, making them eligible for priority funding for wildfire prevention projects.  Also because we are on this list you may be eligible for discounted insurance rates and increased options for insurance with other insurance providers.  - See More Here
